Do you know where the odd socks go? Do you feel the need to rant about bad service? Do you want to contemplate the meaning of freedom?
Delve into the inner workings of the brain, the glories of pasties and pies and the joys of a summer's day on the river. With humour and insight. Daisy Jackson writes poetry to soothe the mind, ease the heart, nurture the soul and help life make a little more sense.
Daisy Jackson is a poet, a writer, performer, director, arts teacher and specialist in making the arts accessible for people with learning difficulties. She is co-director of Culture Conspiracy, producing plays, videos and projects. For relaxation she likes to read, practice tai chi and paddle on the river. Daisy loves good coffee, fantastic food, fabulous friends and great gin. Would like to walk the hills, meditate, do yoga and visit every Unesco site in the world if she could only find the time. She writes poems about everyday life.; a bit of a rant, a wry reflection on things that happen to all of us. How did it begin? One day Daisy offered to help organise a poetry night at a local pub.. Here she met Ian: landlord, illustrator, graphic designer, writer and actor. One conversation led to years of friendship, an amazing creative partnership and new poetry inspiration.
Ian has always drawn. An early work, crafted at the age of three is titled Teddy Bears in The Rain and received great critical acclaim. From his mother. One thing led to some other things and he became an illustrator and art director in London's trendy Notting Hill. Then it all changed. One day Ian found himself running a struggling pub. Over twelve years this dingy boozer became a busy arts-based community hub. Here he met Daisy Jackson. They teamed up to become a winning creative partnership. They also devised and hosted the best pub quizzes. Ever. Anywhere. Today Ian is an actor, writer, musician and designer. Drawing the illustrations for Daisy Jackson's Random Rants and Remedies is a joyful continuation of their alliance - and if she ever writes a poem called Teddy Bears in The Rain we have the picture already.
