Recent Advancements in Design and Automation: Select Proceedings of Icrame 2025

This book comprises select peer-reviewed proceedings from the 6th International Conference on Recent Advancements in Mechanical Engineering (ICRAME 2025). Yogesh Singh graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh (India) in 2008. He received M. Tech degree in Machine Design from National Institute of Technology Rourkela, Odisha, India, in 2012. He got his PhD (Robotics) from Indian Institute of Technology Indore, MP (India) in 2016. He then worked as postdoctoral fellow at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India, from January 2017 to July 2017. From August 2017 to July 2018, he worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology Chennai, India. In July 2018, he joined the faculty of the Mechanical Engineering at National Institute of Technology Silchar, Assam, India. His main research interests include kinematic and dynamic modelling of the robotic manipulator, parallel manipulator and nonlinear control of robotic systems. He has published more than 40 articles in top class journals and conference proceedings. He has four externally funded research projects from DST, CSIR and SERB, Govt. of India. 

Sushant Negi is presently working as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department, NIT Silchar. He has obtained his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Tech. University, Jalandhar in the year of 2009 and completed his M.Tech with specialization in CAD-CAM from NIT Hamirpur in 2011 and also acquired his Ph.D. from the same institute in the year of 2016. His area of specialization is additive manufacturing. Prior to joining at NIT Silchar, he has worked as Project Scientist at National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), Mohali on Govt. of India R&D project.

I. A. Palani is working as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the IIT Indore. After completing his doctorate from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, he worked as a postdoctoral research scientist in Graduate School of Information science and Electrical Engineering, Kyushu University, Japan.  He has developed Mechatronics and Instrumentation Lab at IIT Indore. His area of expertise includes laser assisted surface processing, micro-machining, Smart materials and shape memory alloys. He has published more than 100 international journal publications, and he has filed 6 Indian patents. He has executed project from different funding agencies such as DST, SERB, DAAD, JSPS, DRDO, MHRD. He has closely worked with industries, such as Volvo Eischer, John Deere, WABCO as technical consultant. He has strong research collaboration with University of IFW Dresden Germany, Kyushu University, Japan and Jeju University, South Korea, St Petersburg state University, Russia and Purdue University, US. He is a life member in Indian Laser Association, RRCAT Indore and Smart materials and structures, IISC Bangalore. He is a recipient of Kyushu University friendship scholarship and AICTE National doctoral fellowship. He is a member of SPIE, Indian Laser Association, Institute of Smart Materials and Structures.

Santhakumar Mohan got his Ph.D. (Robotics and Control) from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai (India) in 2010. From June 2010 to March 2011, he worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC), Kerala (India). He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon (Republic of Korea). In 2012, he joined the faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore. He is holding visiting faculty positions at IISc Bangalore, India, BSTU, Belgorod, Russia, KAIST, Daejeon, Republic of Korea, RWTH Aachen, Germany, and ECN, France. His active research areas include Service and Field Robots (specifically, the design & motion control of underwater and wheeled mobile robots), Parallel Robotic Platforms, and Assistive and Rehabilitation Robots. Furthermore, he has received the outstanding young Scientist for the year 2014 from the Korea Robotics Society, European Master on Advanced Robotics Plus (EMARO+) fellowship (2018-2019), Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Fellowship (2016–2017), Satellite across virtual institutes (SAVI) fellowship (2013-2014), World-class university fellowship (2011- 2012) and Brian Korean 21 (BK21) fellowship (2011). He has published more than 130 articles in various journals and conference proceedings. He has edited three books and completed twelve sponsored projects.
