Redefining Global Economic Thinking for the Welfare of Society

The richest one percent of the entire population of the world now owns more than half of the global wealth. Global wealth is unequally distributed, gross domestic product (GDP) and consumption are a declining trend, and poverty is an increasing trend. Each participant's gain or loss of utility is exactly balanced by the losses or gains of the utility of the other participants, which certainly drives an unhealthy and unhappy globe. As such, global economic thinking must be redefined in order to encourage inclusive development and better problem solving. Md Mashiur Rahman , an author and banker, is currently working in Bank Asia Ltd., Credit Risk Management Division of Corporate Office, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has 15 years of glorious banking experience and worked in different divisions of the bank with profound satisfaction. He has written a number of books, articles in international journals, chapters of book and columns in daily newspapers. He is also working as Book Editor of IGI Global: International Academic Publisher, USA and Taylor & Francis Group, USA. Mr. Rahman was born in Hosnabad under Barishal District, Bangladesh. He introduced two models namely “Wealth and Welfare Business Model: sustainable business model” and “Mahdia Banking Model: sustainable banking model” which address the problem of existing capitalistic business and banking models and provides solutions with some correction of existing models. The models were presented in different national and international conferences and also are under consideration for publication by the USA publishers. He has completed Secondary Study from Hosnabad High School, Higher Secondary from Dhaka Imperial College and Bachelor & Master’s in Marketing from Dhaka University, Bangladesh. He is keen to study and likes to work for humanity. He believes that working to solve human problems can make us rich and happy. He lost his father when he was in class eight and lost his mother after completion of post-graduation. He has a daughter and a son. His spouse is an entrepreneur.

Richa Goel is Assistant Professor-Economics and International Business at Amity International Business School, Amity University Noida. She is a Gold Medalist in her Master of Economics with dual specialization at master level accompanied with an MBA in HR. She is a Ph.D. in Management where she had worked for almost 6 years in the area of Diversity Management. She has a journey of almost 20+ years in academics. She is acting as the special issue editor of Journal of Sustainable Finance and Investment, JSFI abstracted and indexed in the Chartered Association of Business Schools Academic Journal Guide (2018 edition) and Scopus. She is also acting as the Lead Editor for Amity Global Business Review-Journal an International Peer Reviewed. She has many books to her credit by renowned publishers. Her area of interest includes Business Restructuring, Fusion of Technology with International Business, Sustainability, Human Resource Management, and Diversity Management, Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship Development, Role of New Age Technologies. She is a member of different Societies and professional bodies including the member of World Economic Association, Member of Bar Council, Human Resource Benchmarking Association, and many more.

Anthony P. Gomes , originally from Dhaka, Bangladesh, moved to USA in 1993. After doing his Master’s in business management from Dhaka University, Bangladesh, he ventured into private sector management positions including one of the leading NGO in Bangladesh, World Vision. After moving to USA, Mr. Gomes changed his career path and began his journey in the IT field and now working with TeamPeople, Washington D.C. Mr. Gomes has almost 40 years of experience in community development, he is a social activist playing a key role in many social organizations in Washington metro area and beyond in North American. He is also a creative writer and editor with almost 40 years of experiences. He has written a lot of valuable articles in local and regional publications in Bangladesh as well as in USA and most of his contributions were focusing on the social welfare, equality and community development for the betterment of the society. He has worked as the Chief Editor for many publications in last four decades including some of the special publications of the leading nationwide events in Bangladeshi community in USA. He brings a rich experience of professional, social and literary talents and contributing member of the community in USA. He has been involved with numerous socio-cultural organizations and still contributing towards the social welfare with his intellectual resources. Md Almas Uzzaman is a Bangladeshi born Australian Citizen, living in Sydney involved in analyzing, buying and selling of shares, stocks and securities in New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), AMEX, ASX, LSE, XETRA, HKSE, DSE. He helps investors in analyzing shares and stocks in capital markets. He advises and guides in doing business, international business, and social research when researchers ask help in conducting research. He closely observes and analyzes of individual persons and groups to take better decisions for income, employment and business management. He enjoys take classes for training and education. Mr. Almas loves to create sustainable and welfare business for less fortunate people, helping them to become small trader/entrepreneur, helping less educated, less fortunate people/ students to become valuable and demanding human capital. He conducts brain storming sessions in finding to generate income, employment and stress free happy life management. He was additional Director General of Bangladesh Customs, Excise and Value Added Tax; Assistant Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Peoples Republic of Bangladesh and Lecturer of the Department of Marketing, University of Dhaka.
