Book by Frank Bohanan
Revue de presse:
Bohanan doesn't leave much to the imagination, presenting all of the challenges, expenses (a key point), drawbacks, and finally, benefits that a restorer will encounter. --Mustang Enthusiast, reviewed by Larry Jewett, June 2010----All in all, How to Restore Your Mustang is a solid and meaty tech book, and a useful purchase if you've been eyeing that dilapidated Mustang in your garage with renewed enthusiasm. -- -- --Musclecar Enthusiast, October 2010
If you're contemplating picking up the original pony car, this inexpensive book should be on your short list. - --Hemmings Classic Car, October 2011
Keeping your 'Stang road and show-worthy can be an ongoing task, especially if you've invested in a project rather than a completed trophy winner. You should therefore find Frank Bohanan's new book in Car Tech's Restoration how-to series a useful tool. Not intended to replace a factory or aftermarket workshop manual it guides you through the process of deciding what car best suits your skills, needs and aspirations. With 500 clear colour photographs it provides a useful insight into what might need repairing, replacing, and updating. Starting with inspection tools you could need, how trim and panels can be removed, it moves into specific areas of a typical restoration project, devoting a chapter on each. Bodywork repair and rust removal, paint, rebuilding the engine, transmission, suspension, rear axle and brakes are all covered, including deciding whether to upgrade to disc brakes. There's discussion on the electrics and the all-important interior trim, most of which is available from the after-market suppliers. Even air conditioning upgrades are included. the text is clear as are the pictures. The scope is wide, but it covers most bases. There are a number of similar books on the market but this one is worthy of your consideration. --Classic American, Sept, 2013
