Manufactured in accordance withe the regulations of the War Production Board. Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for a gift inscription on the FFFP. Book Condition: Very Good +; light shelfwear to head, tail, and tips. DJ: Fair; NOT Price Clipped ($3.00); missing pieces at top and bottom of front panel; wear and missing small pieces at head, tail, and tips; repaired closed tears. Green cloth boards and spine with orange lettering on the spine and front board. Clean internals. Inner hinges are sound and not split. 143 pp 8vo. The popularity of the retriever has grown by leaps and bounds. Through specialized training, their range of usefulness has been greatly extended so much so, in fact, that many Sportsmen employ a retriever as an all-around dog. In this book, the author discussed the breeds and their characteristics and gives advice on the selection of a dog- Chesapeake, Labrador, Golden, Flat-cost, Curly coat, Irish Water Spaniel, American Water Spaniel. Then there are step-by step lessons in the training of the pupil (dog). There is a valuable section on outstanding retriever performers and dogs that have made retriever history.
