Ivan Allen's library copy with personal bookplate to front pastedown and address written on first free endpaper. Maroon cloth over boards with gilt titling to spine. Pages have light to moderate scattered foxing to a few pages throughout, page 191 is torn down the center and loose half is still present, writing in pencil to front flyleaf, and long tear along spine edge of illustrated page 39. Endpages have tanning to edges, soiling to rear endpages near inner hinge, and previous bindery sticker to lower edge of front pastedown. Text block is sunned particularly at top edge, has light foxing to lower edge and fore edge, and spot of light soiling to top edge. Boards have water ring dampstain to lower edge of front board, black marking to rear board near outer hinge, and light soiling to top edge of rear board. Light bumping to corners and ends of spine, and light rubbing to extremities. Binding is tight and square.
