Carolyn and I have been writing songs since 1997. Our first song was "Safari
Mitzi." Over the years, we've gained a wealth of musical knowledge and expertise from
arrangements by Frank Metis, Noah Luna, Alexis Lamb, and Michael Gancz. Frank, in
particular, took me under his wing like a father, providing the encouragement I needed
when I first started out. I've also composed several songs on my own, and all of them are
original, just like Carolyn's lyrics.
This collection represents the Safari Mitzi Collection, carefully curated.
I deliberately avoid writing commercially mundane songs for the younger iPhone
generation, who often prefer loud noise with booming effects produced on a computer
using drum machines. It's not just about creating hits in genres like country, hip-hop, or
rap; sentimentality doesn't always resonate these days. While some of my songs may seem
outdated, they come straight from the heart. Perhaps people will appreciate them even a
hundred years from now.
Carolyn and I continue to reside in Ft. Myers, where we've welcomed a new addition to our
family: "Sassy," a loving cat we rescued from an animal shelter. She's quite the character,
running the household and keeping her brother Ollie in check.
