Item description from seller
A lovely illustrated edition of this volume detailing the history of William the Fourth. Written by historian J. Fitzgerald Molloy (1858-1908). Details the life of William IV (1765-1837), his time in the Royal Navy which earned him the nickname the 'Sailor King', his ascension to the throne and his rule. Upon his death, his niece Victoria was crowned, later to become the longest reigning monarch of Great Britain until then.Contains ten full plate portraits, including the frontispiece. In a half crushed morocco binding. Externally lovely, minor shelfwear only. Inscription to front endpapers of an R. Eden Dickson. Internally, firmly bound, pages bright and clean. Near Fine.
