A propos de cet article

B/w. frontis. photo. of Rudolf Steiner. Scarce second printing in original wrapper. Stated at copyright: "First Published September, 1954; Second Impression April 1955." Sold together with a handwritten letter from the author to WW1 inventor & hero William Howard Livens(1889-1964) & 44 pages of Livens' handwritten notes on the book. In the 1930's Livens became interested in Spiritualism. He attended a number of sà ances, including witnessing a sà ance with the famous medium Rudi Schneider. Livens was an honorary vice-president of the Spiritualist Association of Great Britain, and later he was a great friend of Lord Dowding who had similar interests. The letter from A. P. Shepherd is an acceptance of an invitation to dinner with Livens after giving a lecture in reincarnation, presumably to the S. A., & mentions that he looks forward to meeting with Noel Street (the mid 20th century clairvoyant, spiritual healer, author & past-life researcher) who may also have been at the dinner. Also loosely inserted are 45 pages of Livens' handwritten notes on the book with excerpts & page number references in the margins of the notes. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 199 pages. Dust Jacket un-clipped. Previous owner's (Howard Levins) signature in ink to fep. Silver titles spine. Includes index. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 500 grams.
