Hardcover. Etat : Good. No Jacket. Brown leatherette on boards, with gilt lettering and decoration to spines and gilt coat of arms to front boards. Volumes are undated, but Volume 1 - Comedies, has inked gift inscription dated 1931. Otherwise clean and tidy, and firm, throughout. A lovely little set. [no date]. (Leatherbound) Good. 981pp, [1]; 887pp, [1]; 847pp, [1]. Undated (c.1920s?). Three (3) volumes. 12mo. Beautifully bound by Bayntun (Rivière) in blue, polished half-leather over marbled boards. Spine in six compartments; title compartment lettered in gilt, remaining compartments with uniform decorative devices in gilt. Top edges gilt. Spines heavily sunned; heavy sunning to quarter leather strip on "Comedies" volume; same sunning light on "Histories, Poems, & Sonnets" volume. Boards rubbed, most notable to leather at extremities and hinges. EPs and blancos toned at corners from leather corners on binding; also evident on edges. "Tragedies" volume starting at front gutter, remaining entirely secure. Each volume with engraved frontispiece with guard. Binder's stamp small at head of verso-ffep of each volume. This set from the library of renowned English-Canadian physician Ian McWhinney - the "Founding Father of Family Medicine" - with his bookplate on the ffep of each volume; "Tragedies" volume bookplate dampstained.
