A propos de cet article

Sheet music. Folio. Three nested bifolia with a single-sheet-insert making 14 pages. All bifolia with edgewear that progressively worsens towards the outer most bifolium that is nearly separated along the fold, middle bifolium partially separated along the fold, dampstaining to the exterior partially affecting the interior, a complete but fair to good only copy. For voice and piano. Plate number, 17434 - 11. The front cover states, "Written for and sung by David Bispham." Bispham was born in Philadelphia to a Quaker family and was barred from studying dramatic singing by his mother, so he did not take it up until he was an adult. Starting out, he faced a lot of discouragement but he went on to become one of America's leading baritones. His *New York Times* obituary described him as "one of the foremost figures in the American concert opera and concert field.".
