Spooky or funny, surprising or frightening, Shock Shop is a collection of brand-new novels by some of the greatest names in children's writing. Hairy Bill; One morning, the Matheson family come downstairs to find that their living room is unnaturally, indeed frighteningly tidy. At first they assume it's a break-in (obsessively tidy thieves?) - but soon the truth becomes clear. It's Hairy Bill - a brownie or bogle, the Matheson family's very own house spirit. He used to do chores on the family farm. In the city, he decorates and cleans. Soon the whole house is redecorated in Scottish Baronial style - deer's heads, tartan aplenty, Scottish landscapes on the wall...But the Mathesons don't want to live with a demonic antidote to Carole Smillie. How can they get rid of the sinister spirit of cleaning?

Susan Price started writing and telling stories when she was very young – and was winning prizes for it from the age of fourteen. Her first novel was bought by a publisher when she was sixteen.
