Third edition, disbound, the pagination goes from 402 - 419, modern green cloth boards. The contents are in very good condition, there is a little browning to the page edges and some pages appear to be uncut. The boards are in fine condition. Disbound from Volume 6 of The Pamphleteer. Joseph Banks (1743 - 1820) was a naturalist, botanist and explorer, who travelled with Captain Cook on his voyage of discovery from 1768 to 1771. He advised King George III on the establishment of Kew Gardens and sent botanists round the world to collect specimens for the project. He had a particular interest in food crops and this pamphlet reports his findings on the causes of blight in corn. Thomas Andrew Knight was also a botanist and horticulturalist and his letter to Banks outlines the results of some of his own findings and experiments.
