À propos de l?auteur: UTSAV CHANDRA KALITA, PhD (Edinburgh University) is Professor and Academic Director, Assam Down Town University, Guwahati. Earlier, he was Deputy Director at North East Institute of Science and Technology, CSIR Jorhat, Assam, and Professor of Applied Mechanics at NIT Silchar. Professor Kalita has been the Head of Civil Engineering Department at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. Dr. Kalita has about four decades of experience in teaching and three decades in research and consultancy. He has also published/presented more than 60 research papers in various national and international journals and conferences. He is the recipient of best paper award of Indian Geotechnical Society for a research paper on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering. A life fellow and the President of Indian Geotechnical Society, Dr. Kalita's areas of research include Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, Structural Engineering and Low Cost Housing.
