The Story of My Life, is Helen Keller's autobiography detailing her early life, especially her experiences with Anne Sullivan. The book is dedicated to inventor Alexander Graham Bell. The dedication reads, "To ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL Who has taught the deaf to speak and enabled the listening ear to hear speech from the Atlantic to the Rockies, I dedicate this Story of My Life."

John Albert Macy (1877-1932) was an American editor, writer, and literary critic who assisted in preparing The Story of My Life for publication. Helen Keller (1880-1968) was an American author, lecturer, and advocate whose life became an enduring symbol of perseverance and intellectual achievement. She went on to graduate from Radcliffe College and became a prolific writer and speaker, advocating for education, disability rights, and social reform.
