Lynne trained as a primary school teacher, and spent several years teaching in and around Bath, where she still lives with her husband. She also spent five years working as pianist and receptionist in a Dancing school. It was only when their four children began leaving home for university that Lynne gave up teaching and began writing seriously, and since then she has had fourteen children's fiction books published, including four for Franklin Watts. "The Chariot Race" is her first story for b small.
