Synopsis :

In the globalized world, organizations have become increasingly concerned about the health and well-being of their employees, due to the harmful effects of occupational stress, which has become a significant and worrying problem. The consequences of occupational stress can affect both organizations and individuals, including the direction of their careers. In relation to medical careers, it has been observed that professionals today work in a context of health modernization, which has led to a decline in liberal practice and has directed these professionals towards salaried work, in which they are subject to the same conditions as other workers in the modern capitalist labour market. This work sought to study occupational stress related to the practice of medicine in Emergency Care Units (UPAs), analyzing the pressure factors at work and their relationship with career commitment, among other aspects. The results indicate that the doctors surveyed are generally very committed to their careers, especially in terms of identity and resilience.
