Synopsis :

Cholelithiasis is a common surgical problem. In longstanding cases of cholelithiasis, spectrum of mucosal changes goes towards malignant changes. So Cholecystectomy is the treatment of choice as early as possible, so that mucosal changes do not occur in gall bladder. Due to long standing diseased gallbladder, having stones in it, is most likely to develop mucosal changes towards malignancy and thus cholecystectomy eliminates the risk of carcinoma developing in a diseased gall bladder.

Pr�sentation de l'�diteur: Cholelithiasis is a common surgical problem. In longstanding cases of cholelithiasis, spectrum of mucosal changes goes towards malignant changes.
