Through stories most people haven't experienced, like waiting in line to use the bathroom at an invite-only sex party in New York City, Renard takes her readers to places we all know too well. Feeling disconnected, unappreciated, and like we are doing it all have become hallmarks of modern marriage and parenthood.
Swing is helping individuals flip the switch from depleted to filled up in partnership, parenting, and career while inspiring couples to raise the bar for intimacy and communication inside and outside of the bedroom.
Hilarious, heartbreaking, and hopeful, Renard takes "doing it all" to a level she never intended, and shares (and bares) it all so you can get your life back on track before you go off the deep end.
"Renard's narrative voice is lighthearted and witty ... a thoughtful work that delves into the intricacies of marriage and longing."
Kirkus
"Swing is the sexiest, funniest, most deeply felt memoir you will read this year. If Shonda Rhimes were a homeschooler and skating coach instead of a television exec, if Cheryl Strayed visited exclusive sex clubs instead of canoodling on the trail, if Elizabeth Gilbert stayed married after all her soul-searching, then one of them might have written this book. And then again, maybe not, because Ashleigh Renard is one in a million."
Andromeda Romano-Lax, author of Annie of the Wolves and Behave
"In Swing Ashleigh Renard has created an entirely new genre: the hot self-help book. With its wit and grace and wisdom--and some steamy interludes--this book belongs on your shelf next to Glennon Doyle and Brene Brown and Luvvie Ajayi."
Dr. Deborah Williams, Professor, NYU
"Swing shows how having the courage to blow up the love you have makes room for the love you deserve."
Allison K Williams, author of Seven Drafts: Self-Edit Like a Pro from Blank Page to Book
"Charming, hilarious, and deeply wise, Ashleigh Renard's remarkable debut is that rare thing: A memoir that both entertains and instructs."
Joanna Rakoff, author of A Fortunate Age, My Salinger Year, and The Fifth Passenger (forthcoming)
"Swing is fearless and funny, the perfect book for women who want marriage and motherhood to feel like a breathtaking adventure."
Alia Volz, author of Home Baked: My Mom, Marijuana, and the Stoning of San Francisco
"In one of Swing's early chapters, the author describes her morning routine as a young figure skater in vivid, sensory detail. I was there in the locker room and out on the ice, tracing the perfect circles and figure 8s, wincing at the gash on my leg. I could relate deeply to the author's feeling of trying so hard, checking so many boxes, and yet failing at fulfillment ... hard-won wisdom about what constitutes a meaningful and happy life, and how to cultivate one's relationship with self."
Danielle Simone Brand, author of Weed Mom - The Canna-Curious Woman's Guide to Healthier Relaxation, Happier Parenting, and Chilling TF Out

Description de la boutique
With 3 stores less than 1 hour outside the DC/Metropolitan area (1 in Gaithersburg, 1 in Frederick and 1 in Hagerstown, MD), we have the largest selection of books in the tri-state area. Wonder Book and Video has been in business since 1980 and online since 1997. We have over 1 Million books for sale on our website and another 1 Million books for sale in our 3 locations. Items on Abe are not necessarily in stock at our retail locations. Please do not call the stores to place orders for Abe Books sales. We have a very active online inventory and as such, we can receive multiple orders for the same item. We fill those orders on a first come first serve basis, but will refund promptly any items that are out of stock. Since 1980 it has always been about the books. ALL kinds of books from 95 cent children's paperbacks to five figure rare and collectibles. A merging of the old and new is where we started, and it is where we are today. Our retail stores have always been places where a reader can rush in looking for a title needed for a term paper that is due the next day, or where bibliophiles can get lost "in the stacks" for as long as they wish. In 2002 USAToday recognized us as "1 of 10 Great Old Bookstores", and we have been featured in numerous other newspaper and TV stories including Washington Post and CSpan. Members ABAA, ILAB.…
