As someone with a topical understanding of Buddhism, I found Symbolisms in Buddhism, As I Have Heard, written by Christine H Huynh, MD to be a highly informative text. In it she has communicated the fundamental precepts and teachings of Buddhism in an accessible style for the reader/listener; citing examples throughout which further aid in understanding. Historical facts regarding the Buddha's life; the outlining of The Dharma and The Eightfold Path, as well as references throughout citing the innate Buddha nature in each of us serve to promote a deeper understanding of Buddhism.
