Szymanowski's masterful 1931 ballet-pantomime, based on folklore of the Tatra Mountains - here brilliantly performed by The Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, Witold Rowicki (conductor), Kazimierz Pustelak (tenor). CONTENTS: Scene I - On the Mountain Pasture: Driving the Sheep, mime scene, The Robbers' March, mime scene, The Robbers' Dance; Scene II - Inside the Hut: Wedding, Wedding Rites/The Song of Young Highlanders, The Highlanders' Dance, Arrival of the Highland Robbers - Dance; Scene III - Hala: On the Mountain Pasture. Liner Notes are in Polish and English. CONDITION: A Very Good LP record [not a CD!] in a Good Plus jacket (with edge-, corner-, and ring-wear, plus a taped-down fold-over spine-edge composer-title label). The LP - tested and cleaned before listing - plays beautifully, but with some areas of light-to-moderate surface noise. ***A fresh anti-static inner sleeve replaces the plain/blank original - and the jacket is nestled in a clear outer sleeve.
