Synopsis :

This book provides a comprehensive overview of a critically important topic in Orthopaedic Surgery ― Infections. It encompasses every aspect of Orthopaedic infections, from etiology, pathogenesis, and risk factors to diagnosis, treatment, and recent advances aimed at expediting management.

Contributors from across the globe have shared their expertise and experience to make this volume a true masterpiece. Concepts are clearly explained with the aid of state-of-the-art figures, clinical photographs, and radiographic images.

The chapters cover a wide spectrum of Orthopaedic infection subtopics ― from conventional entities such as osteomyelitis and septic arthritis to contemporary challenges like fracture-related infections and periprosthetic joint infections. The latest research on novel diagnostic modalities, including thermal imaging and biomarkers, is discussed in detail. Dedicated chapters also focus on Diabetic Foot and Tuberculosis, two often neglected yet significant areas within Orthopaedic infections.

This book serves as a valuable resource for undergraduate and postgraduate students pursuing MBBS, BSc, and MS/DNB degrees. It broadens their understanding and perspective on this vital subject in Orthopaedics, offering benefits in both theoretical learning and clinical application. It also aids readers in preparing for theory examinations and viva voce sessions, where infection-related cased are frequently discussed.
