Two volumes, 1915-1916 (feathers) with a hand written notebook containing descriptions for trout flies, dyes for trout flies and lines and a second volume with 40 groups of feathers and hand written descriptions. First volume half leather binding with marbled boards, no titles, blind stamped decorations, the name JR Gladstone hand written to the front of this volume. Wit 70pp with hand written text, followed by 80 pages with one page showing 2 Salmon flies, followed by 20pp of Fishing tackle suppliers, animals and birds used in the making of trout flies. Approximately 7 ¼ inches tall. Two loose pieces of paper with Receipts For Polish and Snare for Woodcock and Snipe together with blotting paper, followed by: § An alphabetical list of names of trout flies § A list of 62 trout flies with details of feathers used § Eel spear for sun spearing § Receipts for dressing spinning lines § Receipt for waterproof boots § Dyes § Dyeing from Stonehenges § Fishing tackle makers Second volume a paperback volume from Bombay (see inside front cover), with a hole cut to the top and a title Game Birds Feathers May 1915 hand written to the centre of the cut hole. The top of the hole is torn through to the top of the front cover. The name EC Brown 1/6 GR hand written to the first page. This volume contains 40 feathers or sets of feathers with a hand written description to each. The location of the feather retrieval is also mentioned and these are mainly in Pakistan. 40pp with feathers and some blank pages, with 22pp further blank pages. Approximately 8 inches tall.
