The Teuton and the Roman is an abridged version of a series of lectures given at Cambridge University by the Reverend Professor Charles Kingsley. The abridgement is by Roger Pearson. This is a very rare first edition (note that Teuton comes first in the title, later editions tended to reverse the order). It is bound in green linen with dark blue titling; there is some fading to the covers, particularly the spine. Ownership inscription dated 1957 on the front free endpaper.
