A propos de cet article

Very nice copy in very good condition as it's been fairly recently rebound in sound black boards and well looked after, all complete with both charts and illustrations showing examples of beauty and ugliness as perceived by Miss Schimmelpenninck, a leading light of the 19th century Bristol Clifton intellectuals, also an important member of the Phrenology movement, the science of telling a person's character by their face and head shape. She wrote various books, mostly religious but this one is supposed to be the best of her publications, it explains her extensive thoughts to do with attractiveness and sensibility, good taste and bad, what makes a garden beautiful and a drunken man ugly.
