A propos de cet article
Thomas Nelson and Son's Uniform Edition of George Eliot's Works. Twelve unnumbered Volumes, bound in full-leather with gilt lettering on the spine. Contents include the following twelve Volumes: Silas Marner (including The Lifted Veil and Brother Jacob); Middlemarch, A Study of Provincial Life (two volumes); Adam Bede; Romola; The Mill on the Floss; Felix Holt, the Radical; The Spanish Gypsy (including The Legend of Jubal and Other Poems, Old and New); Daniel Deronda (two volumes); Scenes of Clerical Life; Essays and Leaves from a Note-Book. No DJs; no initial sales price data provided. Several volumes show wear and other damage to the edges and spines. Some age-commensurate browning and occasional foxing of the pages; Gift inscriptions (dated 1906) on the FFEP of most Volumes; otherwise, text is extremely clean and pages unmarked. Each Volume illustrated with frontispiece in black-and-white by various artists. Roughly 500-600 pages in each volume. TEG. Measure 4.25” x 6.25”. These books have been reissued many times in many formats, but why buy paperback versions when you can own copies in an early original state. The perfect gift for that dedicated English Lit student you have been encouraging. More images and/or description can be sent on request. Condition: Very Good+.…
