Two octavo volumes. Pp. 623; 689. With all original plans, maps, and cuts. Portrait frontispiece. First edition to include a new Preface by the author, and an Introduction by T.E. Lawrence. Large folding map in pocket of Volume 1. A good to very good copy in green cloth boards with gilt titling and vignettes to covers. T.e.g. Spines faded; wear to extremities, and small (1/4") tears to spine heads. Library numbers to spines, and library mark to title page. Three tiny (1/8") tears to edge of rear free endpaper of Volume I, probably from pulling out the map. Amazingly detailed and wide-ranging travel account, with much action and human interest.
