A propos de cet article

This is a special edition facsimile copy of "The Trial of William Joyce" circa 1946, privately printed for the members of The Notable Trials Library. From the Preface, "this edition of the trial of William Joyce consists of a verbatim record of the trial at the Central Criminal Court, from the official shorthand notes, subject only to such editing as is inevitable to make a verbatim record readable." From the Introduction, "In a sense this is written for posterity, for to his contemporaries in Great Britain William Joyce - better known by his nickname of 'Lord Haw-Haw'-- needs no introduction." From Wikipedia: "William Brooke Joyce (24 April 1906 ? 3 January 1946), was an American-born fascist politician and Nazi propaganda broadcaster during World War II. He took German citizenship in 1940. Joyce was convicted of one count of high treason in 1945 and sentenced to death, with the Court of Appeal and the House of Lords both upholding his conviction. He was hanged on 3 January 1946, making him the last person to be executed for treason in the United Kingdom." (Wikipedia). Hardcover. Brown cloth binding with gilt decorative the cover. Quarter binding in burgundy leather. Raised bands and 22-karat gilt lettering and decorative gilt designs adorn the spine. Nice marbled end pages in burgundy, brown, blue, black and white color themes. All gilt edges. Frontispiece in black and white of The Lord Chancellor, Lord Jowitt of Stevenage Illustrated with several pages of black and white photographs. Edges bear minimal scratching. Very light rubbing on the cover. Pages are in pristine condition with no creasing, marginalia or environmental markings of any kind. Brown silk ribbon bookmark. Description de la boutique

Since 2005, Shelley and Son Books has been passionate about books, and preserving their importance for current and future generations. We believe that virtue and beauty have a close relationship. By reading we gain knowledge. In knowledge we find things that inform our choices and beliefs. Therefore, as booksellers, we see that books have an aesthetic value and a heuristic value. We specialize in The Inklings, primarily "The Seven'": C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Dorothy Sayers, G. K. Chesterton, George MacDonald, Owen Barfield and Charles Williams. A sub-specialty is our significant collection of Christian Theology. But you'll also find works across the centuries, first editions, signed copies, and even modern books, too, across a broad selection of categories and genres. Customer service is of utmost importance to us, and our friendly staff is always happy to help. We assure our clients books of quality, as each copy is carefully graded and shipped with care. Located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, we can be found on Main Street in Hendersonville, North Carolina, (just south of Asheville). We are primarily an online bookstore, but we invite you to make an appointment for an on-site visit! Shelley and Son Books is owned by Stan Shelley. …
