A propos de cet article

A Fine, tight copy in red cloth binding in a Near Fine dust jacket with the price still present. This edition contains "A New Vancouver Journal on the Discovery of Puget Sound by a member of the Chatham's Crew" not included in earlier editions. Edmund S. Meany (1862-1935) was a professor of botany and history at the University of Washington and became a noted historian of Seattle and Washington state and Pacific Northwest Indian tribes, as well as the author of many histories of the region. He was a Washington state legislator for the 1891 and 1893 sessions. In 1906, Meany became editor of the short-lived Washington Magazine . From 1906 until his death, he served as managing editor of the journal Washington Historical Quarterly , the official publication of the Washington State Historical Society. He was also instrumental in bringing the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition to the University's campus in 1909.
