Présentation de l'éditeur
Britain, and that was undertaken just thirty-five years ago. Mr. G. R. Gray s Memoir was, moreover, privately printed, and was necessarily exceedingly limited in its circulation. During the intervening period many additions have been made to the list of species, and morefacts have become known, so that another effort was desirable. It will be evident that the subject maybe approached and viewed from two difterent positions. One aspect will be associated with the entomophytes themselves an aspect which will commend itself to mycologists. The other will be concerned with the hosts upon which the fungi are parasitic, and all sympathy will rest with them ;such a position as we would accord to entomologists. In the work above alluded to the subject was treated from the entomological side, whereas my own antecedents would attract me to the mycological side.
