A propos de cet article

Ottawa / New York: Lee Valley Tools Ltd. / Sterling Publishing Co., Inc., 1984. Fine condition. 6.5" wide by 10" tall. Bright, shiny, clean, square, tight. The spine is square and flat with no creases. No owner's name or bookplate. Not a remainder. Pages are fresh and crisp -- apparently never read. No underlining. No highlighting. No margin notes. A valuable reference for period house restorers and researchers. Profusely illustrated with line drawings, engravings and photographs. Includes numerous pages in color showing leaded art glass; and parquet centers, borders, and floors. Also covers fireplaces and grates, staircases, flooring, porches, columns, glass (textured, patterned and leaded), etc. From the rear cover: "This book is really two books in one. It includes the 1904 UNIVERSAL DESIGN BOOK and price list of the wholesale Sash, Door and Blind Manufacturer's Association of the North-West U.S. and the ILLUSTRATED OFFICIAL MOULDING BOOK first published in 1897 [as revised May 1901]. The two span the Victorian era. It includes all of the exterior gingerbread trim - gable ornaments, decorative shingles, latticework, verge boards, columns, spindles and brackets. For the inside of the house it details wainscotting, mouldings, panels, staircases, windows, and dozens of baluster and bannister designs. Of particular use are the many additional details -- 50 pages of full-size mouldings cross-sections, design of fence pickets, post and post caps, and sections of moulded doors. Attention to these elements is essential to historical accuracy. Scattered throughout are pages depicting church doors and windows, pews and pulpits, store fronts and even barn and saloon doors.". Reprint of 1904 edition. Softcover. Fine condition. Illus. by NOT a library discard. 416pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.…

Besides book fairs and mail order catalogue, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of more than 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialities listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you want to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please only between the hours of 8am and 10pm, west coast time. Our phone is a landline that cannot receive texts.…
