Lukewarmness in the Church…
Moral Decay in Society…
Unstable Economies...
We live in a troubled world. This is a wake up call!
The King of the Universe is coming back to rule the earth in righteousness!
ARE YOU READY?
The various voices of politics, world religions, and new cultural movements all seek to proclaim some form of hope in the midst of these uncertain times. The Word of God tells us that the only true hope is found in Jesus Christ. He is the Savior who died for sinners, and He is the reigning King who will return to earth with power and great glory.
This is the hope we have as Christians—that our King will surely come again. But is the Church ready for the return of Jesus? Are the people of God living in light of and longing desperately for that Day?
Wake Up Church seeks to unpack several exhortations which the Bible gives us in order to help us be prepared for the Second Coming of Christ, such as loving the truth, living holy lives, enduring suffering, and proclaiming the gospel to the unreached nations.
This book will help the people of God live out these realities as they await the glorious return of King Jesus.
Endorsements:
In this book, Greg Wilburn helpfully reminds us that Christ is coming again, and as a result, we should live in holy anticipation of that great day.
Robert L. Plummer, Associate Professor of New Testament Interpretation, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
Another book on the return of Christ? Yes! - But not just any book on the return of Christ. If you are looking for charts, graphs, and endless speculation on the end times, look elsewhere. If you are looking for sound Christian reflection on how the "blessed hope" of our Lord's return transforms Christian living in the here and now, look no further. With biblical insight, earnest passion, and pastoral sensitivity, Greg Wilburn shows you how to live day-by-day in light of Jesus' return. Read this book. Meditate on the truth in it. Apply its biblical counsels, and get a fresh glimpse into what it means to "await from heaven a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ."
Guy Prentiss Waters, Ph.D, Associate Professor of New Testament, Reformed Theological Seminary
Greg Wilburn is passionate about his walk with Christ, and that passion shows through on every page of this book. It is not an easy read. It does not provoke warm feelings, but rather calls us to white-hot worship and sold-out obedience. I recommend it as a tonic for your soul and a spur to action.
Joe Martin, Department of Biblical Studies and Ministries, Belhaven University
With all of the confusing material available on preparing for the return of Christ, I am delighted to recommend this book. Clear, gospel-saturated, practical, and charged with convictional power, this book is a must read for all who seek to be faithful stewards in looking forward to the coming of Christ. Writing from the authority of Scripture and personal experience, Greg Wilburn challenges the church to wake up and take seriously the call that God has on each of our lives. I look forward with joy and expectation to see how God uses this work as a wake-up call for His people.
