Large 8vo, pp viii, 510, double column text within ruled border, wood-engraved illustrations throughout including some full page, near contemporary half red morocco, spine gilt with raised bands, a little rubbed and with a short crack at one joint, last leaf torn and repaired without loss of legibility, a good sound copy, 'LARGE EDITION' variously described as 'Author's Large Edition' and 'Author's Own Edition' presumably to distinguish it from cheaper editions, bound from 64 weekly penny parts, issued as a sequel to the author's highly successful Robin Hood in similar format. Johnson was an active 'penny dreadful' publisher of the period. Good clean sets like this are not always to be found. N° de réf. du vendeur 30065
