Almost like new! This is the preferred (second) edition; gorgeous dark brown real leather cover (not imitation leather), thin (India) paper so book is only 3" thick rather than more than 6" thick with standard paper, red and gold marbled endpapers, thumb tabs, 1934 copyright, 1939 print date. CONDITION: Cover has very slight surface wear consisting of a few very minor scratches, a little rubbing on corners (leather just barely worn through on the tip of one outer corner), spine very slightly lightened by sunlight but all gold lettering on spine and front cover is clear and bright. Binding is tight and square. No marks or writing, all tumb tabs present, original tissue present between flag pages at front of book, no torn or damages pages, very small smudge at lower edge of title page.
