A propos de cet article

Three first editions on Wales and its history, delving into its scenic beauty, with numerous illustrations. Three first editions of illustrated volumes on Wales, two of which are written by British historian Arthur Granville Bradley. In the publisher's original cloth. An understated country within Britain, these three volumes showcase both Wales's scenic beauty and fascinating history. - The Welsh Border: Its Churches, Castles and Dyke, written by M.A. Hoyer and M.L. Heppel, an intriguing account of the border and its history. Contains publisher's compliments stamp to title leaf, with a frontispiece and all fiteen other illustrated plates. Collated complete. (David Nutt, 1911). - In Praise of North Wales, written by Bradley, offering a little tour of the best locations within the scenic area. Contains a frontispiece and all fiteen other illustrated plates. Collated complete. (Methuen & Co,1925). - The Romance of Wales, written by Bradley, a charming account of the natural beauties within South Wales and the border. Contains a frontispiece, and all fifteen other illustrated plates. Collated complete. (Methuen & Co,1929). In the publisher's original cloth. Externally, mostly smart, with the odd faint mark to boards, minimal to Border. Slight bumping to the heads and tails of the spines, and to the extremities, with a skew to Romance front board. Fading to spine of Romance, and a line to center of front board. Offsetting to free end papers of Border and Praise, with a small tidemark to top edge of rear pastedown to Romance. Slight wear to front end paper hinge of Praise. Internally, Praise and Border firmly bound with plate adjoining p.88 of Romance almost loose. Previous owner's ink inscription to title leaf of Romance. Pages are bright and generally clean, with the faint odd spot to first and final leaves, and to extremities of odd leaf of Border. Very Good.…
