A propos de cet article

Size: 12x19 cm bbb year: early 1900s 2. revised edition Strong and solid book We believe that the condition of the book is best described by the five attached photos. Between page 46 and 47 either a small gap or some blackening. See photo. Very little browning first and last page. Fine hardback except for the backside of the HB. - see photo On page A and page I a minimum of fox dotting. You can ask for more photos. It is from the time, when there was rivalry between bridge and auction bridge. The author is convinced that auction bridge enchants the practitioners. Fantastic description of a culture that is typical of the time. Comes with ads also typical of the time.

Description de la boutique

A unique collection of primarily English and French books gathered in Egypt by my late brother, Bent Bach Christophersen. He was bookseller by education having finished his studies at Foyles in London in 1972. He moved to Cairo in the early 1990s where he noticed a surprising number of fine and rare books – not to mention pretty unique memorabilia’s - originating from Europe, to be found in the many, many small shops selling pretty much everything on the streets of Cairo. Intrigued, he found out that most of these books were left behind by the Europeans who, when president Abdel Nasser came to power in 1954, were asked to leave Egypt. They were given a very short notice and only brought their most prized possessions with them. My brother passed away early April 2022. He gave me the task to look after his collection. The money raised from the sales will go to the upkeep of his flat in Cairo. I hope you will enjoy browsing through the list as it will grow over the coming months.…
