A propos de cet article

Original Wing Tips magazine. Printed in black ink on white paper. Pages laid in loose. Front cover shows an illustration of two men in uniform with the caption, "Army Day, 1917-1946." 10 1/2" x 13 3/4." Eight pages, complete. Black-and-white illustrations, complete. Magazine is clean and intact overall but there is slight rubbing to front and back, light age toning throughout, and a punched-in wrinkle measuring about 3/4" x 1" on bottom edge affecting text (has formed into a chip on Pages 7 and 8). Text is still complete and readable. A Good copy. The April 5, 1946 issue of Wing Tips magazine. "Published every Friday by and for the military personnel of the field [Mather Field]." [about basketball], "Squadron B," Squadron C," "Squadron F," "Japanese Swords for GI's [a collection of Japanese weapons and other items confiscated by Maj. Gen. Arthur Harper's 98th Division], and "Laff It Off!" [jokes and comics section]. Mather Field was the predecessor of Mather Air Force Base (AFB). During World War II, Mather AFB was a noted United States air base and training school for pilots, navigators, observers, and bombardiers.
