viii-xxxii, 822pp, b/w illustrations and plates including some foldout, blue boards with title in gilt to spine. Very shelfworn, spine split at top, hinge damaged internally at front and rear. Edge of rear board, plus top and bottom of spine, badly scuffed with layers of board missing, spine faded, boards, eps and pages toned, foxed and marked in places. Spine frayed top and bottom. Red label remnants to front and rear eps, previous owner's name and date to fep and half-title page. Small piece missing to bottom edge of half-title page.
