The author's goal in "Writing Under Pressure" is to provide a book that combines an analysis of the process of writing with a problem-solving approach to enable the writer, whether in school or on the job, to get good writing done on time. The first half of the book presents a case study of a writing assignment with a close deadline. The second half of the book employs two levels of editing; a rough first edit to ensure clarity and a final edit for the reader's ease.
