A propos de cet article

An attractive and fully documented original pastel by H. Claude Pissarro (b. 1935), French painter and grandson of the renowned Impressionist master Camille Pissarro, titled "Palmiers à Monaco," executed in a luminous, Impressionist-inspired style that captures the elegance and leisure of the Riviera landscape. The composition presents a sunlit garden promenade framed by towering palms and vibrant flowering borders, with finely observed figures in period dress overlooking the Mediterranean beyond-an homage to the enduring visual language of French Impressionism filtered through a modern hand. The work is hand-signed "H. Claude Pissarro" at lower left and retains strong color, texture, and painterly detail consistent with the artist's known pastel technique. Accompanied by the original signed certificate of authenticity dated July 25, 2002 (Ireland), bearing the artist's signature, registration number, and fingerprint, affirming the work as an original pastel executed by the artist. Frame measures 33in. x 27in. Shelved at Dupont. [Oversized item(s). Additional postage necessary for expedited/international orders. Claude Pissarro, is a contemporary French painter born in 1935 into one of the most important artistic families of the Impressionist movement, as the grandson of Camille Pissarro. Trained in Paris and deeply influenced by the techniques and sensibilities of the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, he developed a style characterized by soft color harmonies, light-filled landscapes, and refined, decorative compositions often depicting European leisure scenes and Mediterranean settings. While his work reflects the legacy of his grandfather, it is generally positioned within the modern decorative fine art market rather than the historical avant-garde, and he has produced a substantial body of work across paintings, pastels, and prints that remain widely collected for their aesthetic appeal and connection to the Pissarro name. 1410647.
