The former dean of the College of Law of DePaul University and Judge Joseph P. Kinneary professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law's "Weissenberger's Federal Evidence" was cited as the definitive authority on the subject of evidence by a New York Court in 2005.

Glen's first piece of fiction captured his daring innovation, his legal expertise, and his delightful humor in a short story included in the law journal article "Judge Wirk Confronts Mr. Hilmon: A Narrative Having Something to Do with the Law of Evidence," published by the prestigious Boston University Law Review in 2001.

This inclusion of a short story into peer-reviewed legal scholarship ... simply ... wasn't, and still isn't ... DONE, unless, of course, you are Glen Weissenberger!

In "Judge Wirk," Glen describes why it is imperative to bring the role of the fictional narrative into legal writing, which clearly foreshadowed his development into a novelist:

"Stories are the most essential elements of the law of everyday life."

"Historically, however, stories - sometimes known as narratives - have been scarce in law journal articles and other legal literature."

"Nurtured by an academic environment of multiculturalism and diversity, this new narrative genre utilizes poetry, stories, and personal accounts in order to illuminate certain hidden attributes of the law."

Proceeds from the sales of his novels are directed to his two charities (one academic, one cancer research, as he is a grateful 12 year survivor of cancer) and also provides educational opportunities (weekend retreats, workshop stipends) to multi-disciplinary artists dedicated to using their art to further global social justice.
