Karen Tankersley

Karen is a long-time educator with experience as a reading specialist. She spent many years as an administrator in schools and districts recognized nationally for their outstanding achievement and high academic performance. She also served as a professor of Educational Leadership at Arizona State University. She has consulted with districts all across the United States and abroad on not only reading but effective leadership and data-driven decision making. She is also an accomplished grant writer and has written many successful grants for local school districts. Karen loves to travel and spend time with her 2 Yorkshire terriers. She has recently published several children's non-fiction books and will be undertaking a new book on literacy in the Common Core era in the near future.
