But Warren also shows herself normally in many images, sans make-up, and yet somehow, the strange effect she uncannily conveys remains: Ordinary, routine life forces us to conform and act as though everything is OK, forces us to smile for the camera, and pretend that everything will be all right (even if, more often than not, things do not turn out that way).
