A lifelong animal lover, my passion for dogs led me to volunteer with several local animal rescue organizations, including the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue, and Freedom Service Dogs. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, my husband and I traveled to Mississippi to work with the Humane Society of the United States assisting the displaced Katrina dogs.

Maddie, our dog, is a rescue, as was Cinnamon, our cat. Home is Boulder, Colorado, where I live with my husband, Tom, and our dog, Maddie. We sadly lost Cinnamon in August, 2010. In her honor, we foster humane society kittens when we can.

I have donated numerous copies of "MAGGIE" to animal shelter and rescue group fundraisers. For 3 over years I donated 10% of my royalties to Mainline Animal Rescue, a rescue group devoted to raising awareness of the deplorable conditions in puppy mills and rescuing canine puppy mill victims.
