Barbara Spring

I am the author of three books: 1. The Dynamic Great Lakes. This is a non-fiction book about the changes in these inland freshwater seas. To write this book I have embarked on research vessels to observe, interviewed naturalists, fish biologists, limnologists, and geologists. I enjoyed writing this book and I hope you will too.

2. The Wilderness Within, a book of poems and essays drawn from the deep wells of nature. I wrote these poems and essays over a long period of time. Some are about France and others are from wild places I have visited.

3. Sophia's Lost and Found: Poems of Above and Below. Poetry about what I see and feel.

I taught writing at Grand Valley State University and before that I was a correspondent for the Grand Rapids Press, a major Michigan newspaper. I have written numerous magazine articles and have contributed to online travel and literary magazines.
