Lucas Balbo

As a dedicated fan of double bill programs featured on the Parisian screens, Lucas Balbo started to collect B movie memorabilia. By the early eighties this collection took form on the pages of his first publication, NOSTALGIA, a series of 8 issues published about the gems of exploitation cinema. His knowledge and interest was put to work in the 90ies as he assisted Jean-Pierre Dionnet to illustrate the weekly TV series “Cinéma de Quartier “, and shortly after “Quartier Interdit”. It was a natural next step for Lucas to be called upon to assist with many DVD bonus productions. Most recently, he wrote an encyclopedia about B Movies titled LES CLASSIQUES DU CINEMA BIS, the logical following of his first book on the legendary film maker Jésus Franco (OBSESSION, THE FILMS OF JESS FRANCO).
