Jean-Marie Beckers

Jean-Marie Beckers is full professor at the University of Liège, where he holds the chair of physical oceanography. Since his doctorate in 1992, he is actif in the domain of data analysis, modelling and data assimilation into hydrodynamic models. He is particularly interested in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. He is author of 110 refereed publications and the textbook ' Introduction to Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, Physical and Numerical Aspects' with Benoit Cushman-Roisin. He participated in numerous european research projects and serves as expert at various instituts and institutions, among which Ifremer and the European Union. He is also one of the organizers of the annual Liège Colloquium on ocean dynamics.
