Andreas Loizou

I worked for investment banks in the 90s. I kept a notebook hidden in my desk to jot down the madness I witnessed.

In 2009 I took the brilliant Novel Writing Course run by Faber and Faber. I wrote every day, scribbling ideas down on the metro and in airport lounges. People at the Financial Times heard about the strange events that happened to me: they convinced me I had a great story to tell.

I studied English at Leeds and Cambridge. My specialised subject was gender differences in swearing. Go on, you do the f**king punchline.

I'm working on a sequel to The Devil's Deal - provisionally called The Winner's Curse. I'm overjoyed that The Devil's Deal is one of the FT's six key books of 2012.
