Beverly Magid

Beverly Magid was a journalist and publicist in the Hollywood entertainment industry before writing her first novel (FLYING OUT OF BROOKLYN). She is originally from the East Coast (New York, Philadelphia) before moving to Los Angeles, but always thinks of herself as a New Yorker.

Writing as always been a passion with her, "words have the power to affect, both written and spoken." She started as an aspiring actress, then gravitated to interviewing for a music magazine, where she did one of the first interviews with John Lennon after he split from the Beatles. In publicity she worked with such artists as Jacqueline Bisset, Dolly Parton, Whoopi Goldberg, Neil Diamond, John Denver, Paul McCarney, Tom Skerritt, Gene Hackman, Marilu Henner, Joseph Marcell, etc, etc.

She's most interested in politics, environmental, animal and human rights issues.
