D. M. Glass

D.M. Glass is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. After receiving her Bachelor's degree in Business from Mount Union College, she moved around Northeast Ohio for a few years and then settled back in Cleveland. She worked in the healthcare industry for ten years until she made a drastic career change, following another one of her passions, and became a carpenter. She has built bridges, hospitals, schools and a few birdfeeders. Along the way she has been writing. She writes poems, essays, funny stories about the animals in her back yard (which includes a bird eating frog), and a few novels. After trying the traditional publishing route, she self-published her first novel Pulse on Amazon. Two of her poems, “Mama's Stew” and “Toadless”, were published in “The Big Art Book” and she won honorable mention for her essay “Evil Kitty” in the “Writer's Digest” 80th annual competition. In April 2013, she combined her love of poetry and art and began the “Poetry in Motion” Project on Facebook . She is currently working on her MFA in Creative writing in the NEOMFA program at Cleveland State University.
